To Norfolk
Today we departed from Nassau and are on our way to our destination in the United States: Norfolk. There is not a breath of wind, the sea is completely calm and the temperature is high. We are currently motoring, and fortunately the breeze created by our movement provides some welcome cooling.
We expect to spend the first 24 hours of this voyage under engine before making another stop at Grand Bahama. We should arrive there around breakfast time tomorrow morning and anchor off the island. That will give us the entire day to explore Grand Bahama.
The weather forecast for the coming days is challenging. Periods of light winds, headwinds and a few days of favourable sailing conditions are expected. Every day the forecast changes slightly compared to the day before, which makes it difficult to create a solid plan for our voyage to Norfolk.
Each day we review the latest forecast and adjust our plans accordingly. Naturally, we want to sail as much as possible.
