Caribbean sailing journeys
The islands here are truly beautiful. Lush and green, mountainous, with colourful houses built against the hillsides. An incredible variety of vegetation, wrapped in a large grey cloud of tiny water droplets. Or perhaps it is a cloud of smoke from all the weed being smoked on the islands.
That seems to be part of life here, and it somehow fits: Rastafarians sitting under a palm tree with a joint on their lips.
But it must be water droplets after all, because when we are anchored in a bay next to a higher island, the grey cloud sometimes drifts our way and can release quite a bit of rain. Short, warm showers, causing all the Dutch people on board to run inside, because it’s raining. Those who stay outside cool off for a moment and dry again within 15 minutes.
Today the guest crew is exploring the island of Dominica together with the local guide Seacat. Curious to hear what stories they will bring back later.
Greetings from Dominica
