Madeira

After our departure from the Spanish city of Vigo, the weather was in our favor. A northerly wind carried us swiftly to the Portuguese island of Madeira. During the crossing, we had hardly any rain, enjoyed plenty of sunshine and pleasant temperatures. At night, we were treated to a magnificent moon. In short, wonderful days at sea!

We dropped anchor in the bay near the village of Machico, and with that the preparations for exploring the island could truly begin. The guest crew started planning their activities for the next day: some opted for a long hike across the lush island, while others headed to Funchal to explore the city and its famous Mercado do Lavradores market.

Just before dinner, everyone was back on board – right on time, as we set sail again this evening for the final part of our sailing voyage. Now, under the light of the bright moon, we are sailing into the night. Onward to Tenerife!
