Arrival in Salvador

The journey to Salvador couldn’t have gone better. With a steady southeast wind, we were able to sail almost the entire way. And we were really able to sail well. At first, we were going at a speed of 6 knots, but later it increased to 7, 8, and even 9 knots, making us feel like we were flying. Just before our arrival, we were pleasantly surprised by a group of humpback whales. We lowered all our sails and spent quite some time beside these enormous creatures to get a better look. The drone captured some beautiful footage!

Although we had only about two more hours to go at that point, we set all the sails again and sailed into All Saints Bay under full canvas. The wind gradually subsided in the shelter of the city, and the current increased. As the sun set, we came to a complete standstill, right at our anchorage spot. We couldn’t have imagined a more beautiful arrival!
