Race!

We have been busy! After our voyage from Kiel to Scheveningen, we had several day trips in the Dutch coastal town. If there was one sailing trip that stood out, it was the one with care groups! Super enthusiastic guests and always kind and direct in responses.

In Scheveningen, we had beautiful weather almost every day. We could sail up and down off the coast of Scheveningen with almost all sails. The Sunset Cruises both lived up to their name: a rippling breeze with a beautiful sunset on both evenings. At the end of the trip on Saturday, we were even greeted with a great fireworks on the beach, when we returned to the harbor.

Last Monday, it was packing and go: we had only two days to get the ship to Esbjerg for the start of the Tall Ships Race. Fortunately, the wind was favorable. Immediately out of the harbor, the engine could be switched off, and only when we entered Esbjerg, we had to switch it on again. 285 miles in 39 hours, not bad!

After a few days in Esbjerg, with a lot of people visiting during the Open Ships and a few short trips on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, we started the first race! It promises to be an exciting race, because no one knows how the high pressure area is going to pull over us, and thus how or when the wind will change. We keep you informed!

For the fans: our position and the race standings can be seen here. See you in Harlingen!
