High pressure

There has been a high-pressure area over the west of Scotland for a while and that has advantages and disadvantages. For example, this morning people (including myself) appeared on deck in shorts and t-shirts. It’s really beautiful weather! The disadvantage is the mostly very weak, swirling winds, not ideal for sailing, especially if there is a swell and all the rigging starts to flap.

Now that we are anchored in Loch Dunvegan, the wind picks up a bit from the south and it looks like we will be able to sail to Tarbert on Harris. Let’s go!
