Bodø

6 August 2019

After arrival in Bodø we said goodbye to the guests, arranged new stores, water, gasoil and welcomed our new guests. This morning it was time to depart again. Our goal for this trip is Tromsø. If we would go, there in a straight line it is only 185nM. But we have 9 days so all the time in the world to explore the Lofoten, Vesterålen, Senja and the rest of these beautiful surroundings.

The wind is still not cooperating. For the coming week the forecast predicts mostly northerly winds. That’s why we chose our first goal west of Bodø: Værøy.

After the safety instructions we casted away. The first miles we went on engine due to the lack of wind. Underway we gave the guests their first sailing class about the different ropes and sails. Luckily a bit of wind came in the afternoon and we could set the sails.

We are now sailing with a light wind in the right direction (sort of, as the of course the wind shifted in the wrong direction). The arctic sun is trying it’s best to make it a comfortable temperature and we enjoy our first day out on the water. Tomorrow morning, we will go for a hike on Værøy. When everyone returns, we will depart and go to… We will figure that out tomorrow 😉
