We wanted to make a long haul east to get as close as possible to the Great Bahama Bank to go north. The wind shifted so we had to steer more southeast and we decided to tack earlier as planned.
With reefing and a lot of bumps it appeared more difficult than anticipated. But, slowly we went in the right direction, north. Not for long however, but stubborn as we are we keep going. The wind has decreased a bit and the current is helping us in the right direction. The wind is shifting back, and we are steering 10 degrees lower than needed to get ‘out’ with one haul. So, this afternoon we have to tack another time to the east, what will result in southeast… But oh well, the sun is shining, and we are sailing, so who am I to complain?
