It’s a frequently heard comment from our guests at the end of a trip: “Finally a bit of a rest for you guys”. But that’s not really the case. From the moment the last guests disembark the business starts. The cabins are cleaned from top to toe, beds are made, bathrooms are cleaned, the entrance, saloon and hallways are cleaned, the floors are getting a good scrub, the galley gets a big cleaning and the whole deck will get washed down. Meanwhile we are doing custom clearance, we buy groceries, waste is brought to shore. Sometimes we have to get new bunkers and new gas bottles, do repairs and sometimes, if we are lucky there is time for maintenance. In short: lots to do!
But we do have some time, after the hard work is done, for some relaxing. Last night we made an outdoor movie theatre for the crew. We put the beanbags on the deck locker with some extra pillows to make it even more comfortable. We made a screen in front of the entrance, hung the beamer on the schooner boom, connected a laptop and speakers, got some drinks, chips and we were ready for some very comfortable movie watching.
