On our way

15 December 2017

After a long period of maintenance it was a very good feeling to be able to cast off and go sailing! The forecast was less exciting and predicted strong winds on the North Sea. So we decided to stay inland. Via the Nieuwe Maas, Oude Maas, Dordtsche Kil and the Hollandsch Diep we arrived in Willemstad. It was a very wet day, but it was a sailing day.
The next day we sailed further south and after two locks, a bit on the Oosterschelde and the Zuid-Beveland Canal, one more lock and the Westerschelde. Our plan was to stay there for the night, but the wind died down and the forecast said we should be more south to pick up the right wind. So, we sailed on and we have already passed by Dunkirk.
As it looks now the wind will shift at the end of the morning to the north or northwest, which means we will be able to sail. The wind will increase so we are crossing the Channel to the English side to be at the luff side.
