Charlottetown

4 July 2017

After a few busy days in Charlottetown, with ships visits, stores, a bit of repairs and a new group of guests on board, it’s time to depart again. It was a shame there was no wind to sail so we departed from Charlottetown to find a bay to drop anchor for quiet night.
This morning we set sail early and spend a lovely day sailing. The wind was perfect for instructions about sail handling. We are on our way to Îles de Madeleine and we are surrounded by our Dutch colleagues ‘Gulden Leeuw’ and ‘Europa’ and the ‘BAB Union’ and ‘Eagle’.
We have spotted our first whale, we unfortunately did not have enough time to spot which kind it was. Gannets and Northern fulmars are paying regular visits to the ship. We expect to arrive at Îles de Madeleine tomorrow and we are going to take our time to explore the island.
