Caribbean dream voyage

We have been on our way for a few days already with a new group of guests. The trip started in Fort-de-France on Martinique. After welcoming them on board and a good night’s rest we sailed to Le Marin, a town on the south side of the island. We took some time for a dip and a visit to the village. The next day we sailed further south to Rodney Bay, St Lucia and visited the fort on Pigion island.
Yesterday the guests did a tour on the island. First, they visited the capital Castries, next the banana plantations, a rum distillery, a botanical garden, waterfalls, mud pools at the volcano and of course the Pitons were visited. Meanwhile we sailed the ship further south and we waited at Le Petit Piton for the guests to come back on board. An amazing spot next to an iconic mountain.
We planned to barbecue on the beach, but that didn’t work out as the locals who were supposed to organise it informed us at eight in the evening that they could not arrange it…! But no worries, we lit up the barbecue on deck and had a great night on deck.
This morning we sailed around the Pitons to look at them from the water and a huge turtle came to watch us from about 8 meters’ distance. After a while we sailed a bit north to Marigot Bay, an idyllic bay with palm trees on both sides. We dropped anchor there and went snorkelling and using the fore course halyard to swing and jump in the water.
After a delicious lunch on deck we lifted anchor and set sail for the next island: Dominica.
