Dust

30 December 2016

While hundreds of tourists are stuck on the airport of Boa Vista due to the Sahara dust, we are still on schedule. We could only see our destination, Santo Antão, when we were as close as a few hundred meters. But when we climbed the volcano the visibility improved. The higher we climbed the clearer it got. From the top of the crater we enjoyed the fantastic view on Ribeira Grande. The weather was good, lunch was tasty and the walk tough but spectacular. Everyone was very happy when they came back on board.
We are now on our way to São Nicolau. There still is not a lot of wind, so the sea is very calm and we are sailing with 6 knots in the right direction. A group of 30 dolphins just came by to see what we were doing.
