Dust

27 December 2016

A day like today is very welcome after the strong winds from the past 10. Last night the wind decreased to 12 knots and the sea calmed down. A great start of the new trip. After some delay, due to lost baggage we departed this afternoon around 11:30hrs from Palmeira. As said with a calm ocean and light winds. Apparently, there are strong winds in the Sahara because visibility is very poor due to Sahara dust in the air and the whole ship is covered in a reddish/yellow dust. Meanwhile the sun has set and we are sailing with 6 knots towards Santiago, where we will arrive tomorrow morning at sunrise.
