Fish

20 December 2016

The weather is still a bit turbulent. While we are at anchor the ship sways heavily as heavy gust of wind roll down the mountains. Also on the mountain itself, where most people hiked yesterday, the weather was not wat it’s supposed to be. It was relatively cold, strong wind and even rain!
Despite the weather, everyone came back full of enthusiasm and stories because Santo Antão is an impressive island.
Today we are at São Nicolau, our favourite island. And it was the same for the guests who visited the island today for the first time. Two of them did not join the group. They are fanatic sport fishermen and despite their very nice gear they did not have much luck so far. Until today, because today they joined one of the local fisherman and came back with a boat full of fish: Amberjack, Dorado (Mahi-Mahi) and Garupa (grouper).
We replaced the inner jib stay and repaired the torn jib. Tomorrow at 6am we hoist anchor for our next destination: Boa Vista.
