Auspicious

2 November 2016

In January we did the same voyage, we had depressions, wind against, rain and more mishaps. This time all goes splendidly well. During the night, after passing Ushant, we had fog and no wind. But today the sun is shining, the wind is NE 4 Bft and we are doing a comfy 8 knots, slowly swaying on the long ocean swell. We are leaving the continental shelf, dolphins (mainly Common but also Bottlenose) are following us and we have a few stowaways: at the moment 4 House sparrows and one that could be a Nightingale. The sparrows like our biscuit crumbles and the singer caught a fly in the wheelhouse.
We hope that the weather stays like this, enabling us to cross Biscay in an easy way. After that, we will look for a stop-over to stretch our legs and to help the stowaways to find a more natural habitat.
