Sailing around Mull

16 August 2016

With the arrival of a new group of guests there was also different weather! The sun is shining and a nice breeze is coming from the southeast. The first day we left Oban behind and sailed along the south shore of the Isle of Mull. Around lunch we arrive on the southwest side of the island and changed our course to the north right along Iona and straight to Staffa. There we dropped the sails just in front of Fingal’s Cave to let everyone hear Mendelssohn’s Hebrides Overture.
After the music we set the sails again and sailed further north and eventually east to go to Tobermory. We dropped anchor for a good night’s rest after a beautiful day of sailing! We have sailed 75 miles but we are only 25 miles away from Oban…
