To Fort William

12 August 2016

At the end of the afternoon all heads are filled with impressions and the memory card of the cameras with photos. Especially the seals have been documented. But it was time to do some sailing again. We lifted the anchor and sailed out of the loch and set sail for the next island, Rum. The island used to be called Rum but the owner had decided to add H, Rhum. Now the island has gone back to the Scottish National Trust and they removed the H again. We took time to visit the castle and walk through the woods. Unfortunately, with beautiful Scottish weather (pouring rain), so the walks were not that long and everyone was soaking wet when they came back on board. But a warm cup of tea helped to get a bit of colour back on everyone’s faces. Because the forecast was pretty bad we decided to depart to be back ‘in’ on time and our destination was Tobermory. We arrived that evening and dropped anchor for the night. Yesterday we spend the day in town. Today we left early and set sail for Fort William and visit the Neptune’s Staircase, the first set of locks to the Caledonian Canal and to drink some hot coco somewhere.
