Role reversal

24 February 2016

In the morning we reversed roles: the crew became trainees and the trainees became crew. A captain was quickly assigned (Tom) and there were first mates (a lot of them), a navigator, an helmsman etc. The ‘real’ crew helped with heaving the anchor but after that the ‘new’ crew were on their own. At first they were a bit hesitant but quickly the jib was set, followed by the topsail and we sailed out of the bay. The course was set and slowly more sails were set and we sailed to Le Marin on the island Martinique.
When we arrived the sails were taken away and the roles reversed again for the dropping of the anchor. The last night was as it should be: good food, good company and nice drinks and we stayed up until the wee hours of the night.
Meanwhile the ship has been scrubbed and cleaned from top to bottom and the new guests are arriving for the trip to Aruba.
