Forced rest

16 May 2015

The shaft has been inspected and has a new flange. Yesterday we placed everything back, including the propeller so we could also put the rudder back into place. At this point we can’t do more. We are waiting for the new intermediate shaft, which hopefully will be ready on Monday night or Tuesday morning. Once this is installed we can realign the gearbox. Then the resin needs 24 hours to set before we can do the test run. If everything goes well we will be able to do the test run the earliest on Thursday. And if that goes well, we will have to do official test run to get our certification. We lost so much time that we have to depart immediately. There is a tiny advantage of all the delays we have had lots of time to paint. We have concentrated on the annoying corners in the difficult places to reach. But now the weather has forced us to stop painting. So we have a little rest this weekend.
