Final preparations

21 February 2015

The day before yesterday we sailed our last voyage around the archipelago of Cape Verde. Thursday morning the guests disembarked the ship after a beautiful journey along sun kissed coasts. But, in all honesty, we had some rain too the last two days. Even the locals were surprised by the rain.
Since Thursday the Calima is blowing, a fresh and hard North-Eastern wind that carries a lot of Sahara sand. The ship is kind of yellowish from the dust. This means we will have to do a lot of cleaning before we can welcome our new guest-crew on the ship.
The two days that we were anchored here, were used for maintenance, stocking supplies and change part of the crew.
On Monday we will heave anchor. The wind forecast seems to be favorable. With a great East-North-Eastern wind, we expect to head off to the Azores easily. Rotterdam, here we come!
