Strait of Gibraltar

16 November 2014

As expected, we had wind against us mostly the last days. We stayed close to the coast as much as possible, to have less wind and waves. This worked pretty well and we are now at the Strait of Gibraltar. Accompanied by a group of bottle nose dolphins, with beautiful weather, we enjoy the view on Gibraltar, Spain and Morocco.
We still have the current against us, but that will change in the next hour, and then we only have a few hours to go by engine, against the wind. Then we will reach the ocean and head to the south. Of course the sails will be put up right away. The plan is to follow the Moroccan coast until we reach Agadir. It looks like we will be having wind from the North-West, turning North-East. Finally wind from the right angle and we expect to be sailing quite some miles under sail.
