Benicarló

27 October 2014

The last voyage was very much fun and because of the nice weather very pleasant for everyone. It was hard to say goodbye to everyone, but after a nice lunch in Puerto Sóller we felt a little better. After lunch, we left to Benicarló.
With a good Northeast wind and a little help from the engine we sailed across very fast. We arrived round half past eight this morning and within half an hour we were berthed.
Benicarló is not a very beautiful place, but the harbour is much used by fishing vessels and there is a rather big fish market, which makes it a vibrant place. The dock we are in, Oremar, is exactly what we need. A nice sheltered quayside, where we can work and, if needed, have welders, pipe fitters and mechanics within our reach. We don’t need to do a lot of technical jobs, the coming weeks we just hope to get the ship well painted.
