Busy

6 September 2014

Of all the participating ships, 12 sail day trips on the river. 4 times a day they moor at a small pontoon to let a group board. The trip takes 2, 3 or 4 hours and of course meals and drinks are being served.
More tickets as ever have been sold and probably some 10.000 will sail along with the ships. Quite a puzzle, logistically speaking. Only two ships can moor at the pontoon at the same time, so ships come and go. People boarding, garbage taken off, food and drinks taken on. Busy, busy. And all this manoeuvring on the Thames currents is quite challenging.
The last trip ends at about 23:00. Some of the ships can stay at the pontoon, the others will have to make fast at one of the moorings, rather tranquil after such a busy day.
