BBQ

28 August 2014

After a nice morning walking around in Ålesund we casted off. There was a favourable wind from the north, so we hoisted the sails and turned off the engine. Calmly we sailed into the Sulafjorden, caught a few mackerels and hoped the sun would win from the rain. That did not happen, so no BBQ tonight. Near Berkvika we dropped anchor for the night. Cheers for Jessica, who put a nice meal together in no time!
The next morning we left to sail a longer distance. We sailed on open sea, luckily the wind was in our favour and we had a good day of sailing. And since the waves were a lot smaller then the last time, everybody could really enjoy it. Today we saw a lot more sun, so we had good hopes for a bbq. We dropped two anchors in the bay near Moldestad, build a tent against the wind and fired up the BBQ. The fresh mackerels, sausages and salads were very nice, especially after a good day sailing.
After breakfast we left the bay again and hoisted sails.  We sailed past Måløy, under the bridge, through the Fåfjorden, the Frøysjøen and into the Sørgulen and at the end we dropped anchor. On three sides we were closed in by 500-meter cliffs. Here it was time for swimming, walking and enjoying the scenery.
Now we left again and there is a bit of wind so we are sailing calmly towards the next fjord..
