After a heavy night followed a cold shower. This morning a front passed. Hours it poured down, the thunder made it more ominous. The wind shift came suddenly but this time with little force. The wind turned rounds and we turned with it without being able to steer. In the high waves it caused our sails to bang, but it was already to late for the mizzen and schooner. Both sails, weekend by previous repairs, tore.
We were able to remove the mizzen, but the weather was to bad to put up the new one. Maybe we can do this tomorrow. With the sails that we do have we still have a speed of 7 knots, but we are not able to steer high enough and it is frustrating to know that the other ships are speeding away from us.
