Rocky Bay

19 September 2013

The coast of Tasmania is rough and wild. The landscape on the west coast is barren due to all the salt that is been spread out on the shore by the ocean, but the south-east coast is much greener. The bushes grow right up to the beach and right behind the forest starts with big ferns. The trees are huge, especially the eucalyptus trees; there are hundreds of kinds of them. We are anchored at Rocky Bay, on the beach there are Oystercatchers and Robins walking around, but also a beautiful cobalt blue bird (Blue Wren). We also see footprints of wallabies, but we haven’t spotted any yet. Even tough it is raining we take a walk and after lunch on board we’ll lift the anchor and sail further. Our destination for the night is Adventure Bay.
