On our way again

On our way again

18 August 2013

How much we can long to be on land when we are at sea, after a while on land we can’t wait to get back to sea again. The last few days we were busy with small repairs on board, we welcomed a lot of people on board during the open ship days and we had to do all kinds of administrative work (they love that here in Australia) and we needed to supply the ship with new stock again. Yesterday we departed to round the second Cape on our circumnavigation: Cape Leeuwin. The cape is named after the ship ‘Leeuwin’, a Dutch ship that tried to map this area in 1622. Again a piece of Dutch history, so far from Rotterdam.

We started our voyage with a depression that causes a west-south-western wind. The forecast predicts that we will have some light and variable wind before there will be a western wind on Monday. Around that time we will around the Cape, so this would fit perfectly.
