The last few days we have not received any ships updates. This is mainly because of a broken antenna and a very busy schedule on board. We hope to inform you more regular on the following period. After sailing around Cabo Frio, we could sail without any help of the engine towards Rio de Janeiro. Thursday around 4 PM we anchor in the bay of Botafogo (see picture). The weather changes constantly. Rain season starts in April and in a May it changes between sun and rain quite often. The temperature of 27 degrees makes the showers a lot better to accept. While our guests visit the centre of Rio, we have an event on board from the Port of Rotterdam, in cooperation with Porto Central. After that, we also receive Dutch guests on board for a tour on board of the ship and a drink at the bar. The guests visit Pao de Açúcar, the famous rock on the entrance of the bay of Rio. They also visit Cristo Redentor, the big statue of Jesus Christ, and the famous beaches Copacabana and Ipanema.

After today, things will become a bit easier again. We do not have to make long distances in the coming days, and have enough time to visit many places along the coast between Rio and Santos. We have several tropical islands on the porgramme in the bay of Ilha Grande and will also visit Paraty, which makes it quite a promising programme! We expect to do some snorkelling, swimming and barbecuing on the beach.
