‘Tecla’ in sight

The wind has decreased and only gives a little bit of coolness. A direct course to Salvador would mean that we would have the wind at our back. But because of the ocean swell the ship would sway too much and that causes banging sails and gaffs. Therefore we are tacking downwind. We have 50 miles to go and on the horizon we see the ‘Tecla’. It is very special to have crossed the entire ocean without being any more than 60 miles apart. But of course we want to stay ahead and this is going to be a hard task.
