The Southeast Trade Wind

2 March 2013

Coincidence or not: after our visit of Neptune, the old rituals that come with crossing the equator and the official permission for the ship and crew to enter the southern hemisphere, the wind came. First just a bit, but quickly more powerful. The showers are still around us, but the southeast wind is very welcome after days of no wind. It is still warm and humid, but you can notice on board that the change of weather is very welcome. We sail fully rigged and the ‘Oosterschelde’ is in her element. With 7,5 knots we have a good speed in the warm water.
