Many nationalities on board

17 February 2013

We just left Palmeira. For the last time this year and it is also the last time that I went to the office of the Policia Maritima to arrange customs clearance. I gave them a small gift that they can hang on the wall of their modest office.
Besides the guests that sail with us to Brazil, we also have four Italian guests from Sal on board. They have a diving school on the island and they are joining us to Mindelo just for fun. Besides the Italians we also have a Belgian guest and two Dutch guests that will disembark the ship in Mindelo. I keep talking about all the nationalities because this time we have Spanish, German, Swiss, Australian, American, French and English guests on board. So we have a very varied group on board.
The departure was amazing. We could set sail right away and we were sailing 8 knots very quickly. The sun is already low on the horizon, the sky is clear and the sea is pretty smooth. Big dolphins dive slowly under the ship and a few flying fish jump and float in the air. The next leg! The ‘Tecla’ is also at Sal in Santa Maria. Maybe we will see them somewhere on the horizon, they will also sail to São Nicolau tonight.
